Striking slab clay bowl created using two crystal glazes:
OUTSIDE - three coats of Mayco Blue Azure glaze
INSIDE - two coats of Mayco Blue Azure glaze, followed by one coat of Mayco Mystic Jade glaze.
Blue Azure is a semi-translucent blue/green base glaze with blue and green crystals that melt and form small blue specks.
Mystic Jade is a semi-translucent blue/green base glaze with variegated jade/brown crystals.
Please note there is a minor chip on the underside of this bowl where a tiny section of glaze stuck to the kiln (as seen in the images). Although this flaw can not be seen unless the bowl is turned upside down, it has been reflected in the price. Beautiful nonetheless…a perfectly imperfect piece!
